The Countdown for Istanbullish Begins!

ISTANBUL - On September 30th, Turkiye’s first fully-fledged Hedera-themed event is set to take place at Feriye Sarayi, an Ottoman imperial palace located on the Bosphorus waterfront.

Notable speakers include Ian Utile, Chief of Staff at Hedera, Esra Ozdemir, Ernst & Young Blockchain Desk Leader, Hayrettin Kurt, former Head of the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) at the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Treasury and Finance, Sadullah Uzun, Vice President of business development at TÜBİTAK Informatics and Information Security Research Center, Professor Fatma Özkul of Marmara University, and Nurkhat Kushimov, CEO of the of the Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA).

“I can’t think of a country out there with their foot as hard on the gas pedal as Turkiye when it comes to the adoption of distributed ledger technologies,” said Max Lurya, host of the event. “There’s bullish, and then there’s Istanbullish,”

"It is important that this conference is composed of high-profile individuals and that crypto regulations are among the panel topics. During our panel, we will discuss with authorized individuals how recent legal developments regarding crypto in Turkiye and Europe are being addressed and what regulations should be in place," said Sima Baktaş, founder of GlobalB Law. As a lawyer specializing in crypto law, I am excited to moderate this panel.”

“The beauty of distributed ledger technology is that it puts into the fingertips of every citizen the ability to improve their own wellbeing without having to rely on anyone but themselves,” said Hilal Baktas, cofounder of CryptoFemale. “There is no greater equalizer.“

“Bridging the gap between the enthusiasm for a tokenized future built on decentralized public infrastructure and the risk appetite for embracing disruptive innovation in these uncertain times is no mean feat, but it's one that the Hedera Council is uniquely qualified to achieve through our enterprise-centric approach to web3 innovation and governance. I'm excited by the opportunity to support Istanbullish and the regional innovator community. This event will benefit through increased awareness and education regarding how to bring this transformative technology to market in a responsible manner,” said Brett McDowell, Chair of the Hedera Governing Council and Board of Directors.

Kamal Youssefi, President of the Board of The Hashgraph Association, said: “Based on our mission to drive mass adoption of blockchain, The Hashgraph Association has a perfect vantage point over the blockchain industry. With this in mind, our sponsoring of Istanbullish came as an absolute, given the wealth of speakers, industry leaders, and participants who will be involved in this year's event. Further to the context and content of the event itself, Istanbul marks a prosperous location for the blossoming of blockchain. Our partnership with Istanbullish cements that ethos perfectly.”
